Textile Recycling Program

Clinton has partnered with Bay State Textiles Textile Recycling Services - Bay State Textiles to bring textile recycling to our community! Residents can bring bagged materials to the Transfer Station during regular hours (Fridays and Saturdays 7:15am-3:10pm) and there is no charge.

FAQs

  1. What can I bring? Generally, you can bring clothing, accessories, footwear, and linens. Click Here for a full list of accepted materials: What We Do & Don’t Accept - Buy Linens - Bay State Textiles
  2. What is NOT allowed? Mattresses, mattress pads, foam products, couch cushions, lawn furniture, cushions, carpet remnants, rugs that are larger than 2ftx4ft.
  3. Where do the textiles go after I drop them off?  Almost 100% of materials are recycled. Textiles are collected from bins, baled, and sent to graders to be sorted into one of three categories: reusable clothing wiping rags, and fiber conversion. Approximately 5% of textiles are not recycled because they have been contaminated or are moldy and cannot be repurposed.  Learn More here: (link to attached PDF
