We’re thrilled to introduce Kathy Grega as our new Human Services Director here in Clinton! With a wealth of experience and a heart full of passion for community well-being, Kathy is poised to make a tremendous impact on our town.
Kathy comes to us with 27 years of experience in human services primarily with young people with 20 years of supervisory experience to pull from. She has overseen residential programs, and community-based programs serving various populations including the homeless, survivors of domestic and sexual violence, people living with addiction and severe and persistent mental health.  Kathy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a certified Smart Recovery Facilitator, a certified Crisis Intervention Trainer and a Certified Counselor on Access to Lethal Means.  Most recently she served as the Clinical Director for a non-profit in the New London area working with substance use disorder and severe and persistent mental health.  Her approach is grounded in trauma informed, client centered care. She believes in building relationships, being open, honest, consistent and focusing on strengths rather than weakness. Most of her free time is spent with her family and loved ones. During football season she is the team mom for her 11 yr. old sons football team, has a 7 yr. old rescue dog named Bella that loves to walk and play fetch. Any type of physical activity yoga, running, biking, swimming, is a form of self-care for her.  Reading though its more audiobooks these days and crime reality shows are her guilty pleasure.
The Department of Human Services provides an array of services reaching across age, gender, socioeconomic status and culture. 
Providing clinical services for young people and their families, in way of individual, and family therapy. They offer various groups for children, teens, and grandparents raising grandchildren, as well as referrals, and system advocacy as needed.  Prevention Programs are geared toward strengthening the youth voice through advocacy, leadership skills, and providing a positive outlet, employment opportunities all the while adults can connect with other parents and build awareness through shared resources. Our Social Services programs and resources reach across the population of Clinton,  offering Back to School assistance, Emergency food assistance, Clothing assistance, support with accessing the renters rebate tax relief program, the CT energy assistance program, Access Health CT.
