Our custodial
staff is charged with maintaining the 70-year old William
Stanton Andrews Memorial Town Hall in its original state.
Rooms available for reservation are the Auditorium, Green Room,
Rose Room, Kitchen, Lower Lobby and Conference Room. Please
see the Selectman's Office to
reserve a room or rooms.
The Historical
Room is open for public viewing during the summer from 2:00 -
4:00 p.m. on Fridays and 10 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Wednesdays.
We host two
annual holiday events which take place every year, Christmas in
Clinton and the Memorial Day Parade. We also have
beautiful flower gardens and architecture to take in as you
stroll around the building.
The WSAM
Maintenance Department was home to Andrew the Cat for for 12 years (1987-1999).
Andrew became famous during a
battle to oust him from the Town Hall but was saved by a public
appearance on a local news station which helped generate support
in the form of over 5,000 petition signatures. Andrew's memorial
plaque can be seen in one of the rear gardens if you look
closely.
